Hello everyone! 👋
I hope you're all doing well? Welcome to the 4th edition of my newsletter "Webpreneurs", the newsletter for web enthusiasts with a thirst for entrepreneurship.
We're nearing 200 subscribers, thank you for your trust and your valuable feedback!
For this fourth edition, I'm trying out a new, shorter format as I received some feedback about the length of my previous editions. Unfortunately, I haven't had much time lately to produce audio content.
I still hope you'll enjoy it! Please don't hesitate to share your feedback with me. 🙂
Happy reading! 📖
📣 Latest news from @lauthieb
This past month has been quite eventful for me! Although I haven't been very active, I managed to complete a significant task that kept me up late into the night on a few occasions, haha. I implemented internationalization on my portfolio using Next.js. Below, I'll share the LinkedIn post announcing it:
Towards the end of this year, I'll try to be more present, depending on my various activities (professional/personal). Stay tuned! 👀 Anyway, thank you for always being loyal in reading this edition, even if my consistency isn't quite there yet. 🫶
📰 Fresh insights
It's been quite a few weeks! Today, I'm excited to share the latest gems with you that I recommend checking out:
📝 Articles
A fantastic article on the Supernova blog about creating accessible components: check it out here.
Another gem from Brad Frost... "The Design System Ecosystem" highlights various implementation strategies for Design Systems, discussing a plethora of architecture and nomenclature in a captivating article that I highly recommend reading. Check it out here.
The Chrome for Developers blog has released a summary of the CSS updates for the year 2023 in a single article titled "CSS Wrapped 2023," and I can tell you it's fascinating to read. Check it out here!
🎬 Videos
The videos from DevFest Nantes 2023 have been published, so I'm delighted to share my favorite talks with you!
[French] Hubert Sablonnière & Antoine Caron offer a masterclass in both content and delivery on web compression. I highly recommend it, 200%!
[French] Olivier Leplus & Yohan Lasorsa present a very enjoyable format filled with examples to demonstrate how CSS has evolved positively in recent years!
Jecelyn Yeen presented modern debugging techniques using Chrome DevTools, which was very interesting. I learned quite a few things that I personally didn't know before!
[French] And finally, a superb talk by Lauriane Anthony on how Swile's Design System automates certain aspects within their Design System delivery, with a focus on their technical stack and automations using Design Tokens.
🛠️ Tools
Do you know about tldraw? This incredible whiteboarding tool is already amazing in its ease of use for creating drawings and diagrams, but recently it has become magical as it's powered by Artificial Intelligence! This allows you to unleash your imagination to generate an unlimited number of applications from a drawing 🤯. An example here:
If you need to support Right-to-Left (RTL) reading direction, I discovered a superb plugin called "RTL Layout" that allows you to quickly switch from Left-to-Right (LTR) to RTL.
AI is now an integral part of FigJam, and I highly recommend trying out these new features! It's particularly useful for generating decision trees, organizational charts, and other complex diagrams from a simple prompt summarizing what we want. Check out the details here.
Figma has released 6 improvements within variables, and Luis Disco beautifully summarizes them in this thread:

🔍 Spotlight on… Shubham Sharma
[French] In this edition, I really wanted to highlight a YouTuber, a figure in the world of no-code & productivity, whom I've been following for over 3 years now: Shubham Sharma.
Here are a few of my favorite videos that have helped me grow a lot!
This one is a really interesting video to understand the concept of APIs, and I recommend it to anyone diving into the subject:
His video analyzing ChatGPT Vision:
As we're nearing the end of the year, I recommend the one he published a year ago on goal-setting, which is very interesting for both professional and personal aspects (complete with a Notion template as a gift!):
And finally, his latest video on iOS shortcuts is a gem:
Thank you, Shubham, for all your rich and high-quality videos; you have my utmost respect 🙌
📱 Tech news that caught my attention
Here are the latest digital news items that have caught my attention recently:
It's from early November (sorry), but I really wanted to mention it again. OpenAI introduced its GPTs feature, revolutionizing its platform by allowing everyone (subscribers with ChatGPT Plus) to create their own conversational agents, distribute them, and even monetize them within the community. Check out the news on this topic here.
Mistral AI, the French artificial intelligence startup founded in May by industry experts, announced raising 385 million euros, becoming a new French unicorn valued at over 2 billion euros! I can't wait to see the future innovations they'll offer following this raise, and I wish them good luck!
Google has announced its new Artificial Intelligence model: Gemini. It shows promising performance, especially in its multimodal capabilities! I invite you to check out the official announcement website below, detailing all of its capabilities:
This video about it is really promising! I can already imagine it helping a lot of use cases (now let's see if it will really have this speed and these capabilities in reality!):
